William J. Monroe

William J. Monroe, 85, of Winsted, CT, peacefully passed away on September 8, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital. He was the husband of the late Phyllis (Collins) Monroe.

Bill was born June 6, 1939, in North Canaan, CT, the son of the late Richard and Dorothy (Pendergrastt) Monroe. He was employed by Sharon Oil as an HVAC technician until his retirement.

He is survived by four children, Robert W. Monroe of Becket, MA, Michael Monroe of Winsted, CT, Gregg Monroe of Goshen, CT, Lisa Smith of Torrington, CT; one sister, Barbara Cummerford; twelve grandchildren as well as 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three children, James, Steven and Jodi.
