William P. (Bill) Exner, age 89, formerly of Torrington, CT, passed away peacefully at the Laguna Hills Health Club in California on Monday, April 16, 2018.

Bill was born in Torrington, CT, to William and Gladys (Waldron) Exner, the oldest of their six children.  He attended local schools.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving two years in Germany during the Korean War.

He started his first business “MarLyn Press” in Connecticut, and retired when he was forty.

Bill moved his family to a new community in Mission Viejo, CA in 1968.  Never idle, he started another company, Mission Printing Company, which he ran for many years.

He was a member of his church, St. Nicholas, Kiwanis, Mission Viejo Elks, Saddleback Chamber of Commerce and St. Mary’s School Board in Laguna Niguel.

Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy (Ferrarotti) Exner, daughter Lynn (Louis) Balducci, and sons Mark (Donna) Exner and Jay (Leslie) Exner, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  Also surviving Bill are his brother Ernest (Beverly) Exner of Montana and his sisters, Gladys Cerruto and Dorothy Drozdenko of Torrington.

He will be missed by many nieces and nephews and especially by his little furry sidekick “Lady”.

Bill was predeceased by his two sisters and their husbands, Betty (Siro) Formaggioni and Marie (John) Balducci.

A memorial service will be held at St. Nicholas Church, 24252 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods, CA 92637 on May 11, 2018.
