Wayne Preira

Wayne J. Preira, 68, of Torrington, CT, passed away, Friday, January 24, 2020.  He was the beloved husband of Linda (Marks) Preira 37 years.

Wayne was born March 12, 1951, in Meriden, CT, the son of the late Dominic and Jenny (Viele) Preira.  He served his country with the US Marine Corps.  Among the awards and decorations, he received upon his honorable discharged in March of 1970, were the Sharpshooter Badge and the National Defense Service Medal.  He was employed by Electric Motion until his retirement.  A devoted family man, he loved his daughter and grandson who were his pride and joy.

In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by one daughter, Lauren Cyr and her husband Jeffrey and grandson Dominic of Harwinton and one sister, Debra Piper of Bristol, CT.   He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Preira and Dominic Preira.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  Military final honors will be accorded at the conclusion of the calling hours at Cook Funeral Home.
