Walter J. Pulica, 88, of Yale Avenue, Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Froeliger) Pulica.
Mr. Pulica was born August 26, 1925, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Peter and Josephine (Rebecchi) Pulica. He served his country with the United States Army during World War II. Among the awards and decorations he received upon his honorable discharge in April of 1946, were the American Theater Ribbon, the EAME Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He was employed by the Torrington Company, Needle Shop and Standard Plant, and later by O & G Industries as a Custodian until his retirement.
He is survived by one son, Robert F. Pulica of Torrington, CT; one daughter, Kim Pulica McNelis of Arlington, TX; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at St. Francis New Cemetery, South Main St., Torrington, on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. Veteran’s Final Honors will be accorded.
