Virginia McCarthy

Virginia (Dent) McCarthy 82, of Harwinton, CT passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of William E. McCarthy Jr. for over 55 years. 

Virginia was born on March 29, 1942, in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late George and Josphine (Shay) Dent. 

In addition to her husband Bill (Mack), she is survived by two children, Jennifer McCarthy (Corin) of Torrington, CT, William McCarthy (Jennifer) of Torrington, CT and three grandchildren, Abby McCarthy, Matt McCarthy, Sean Hazen. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kassidy Hazen. 

Virginia was employed by Sikorski bus company as a school bus driver for over 20 years. She was also a volunteer ambulance driver for Harwinton Ambulance. 

Virginia’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, especially the nurses and techs on 5^th floor. They are truly angels.
