Violantia (Pagano) Mazzaferro, 104, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late George R. Mazzaferro.
Viola was born February 15, 1920, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Francesco and Guiseppina (Bassone) Pagano. She was employed by the Torrington Manufacturing Corporation and Torin Corporation until her retirement. Family was everything to her and she was sociable, warm and welcoming to all. There was always Pasta Fagioli ready on the stove and you never left hungry. Car trips were filled with guessing games. An avid card player, she enjoyed being a member of the Sullivan Senior Center and hosting the girls for their regular card games.
She is survived by a son, Robert J. Mazzaferro and his wife Frances of Maryland; her grandchildren Donna, Catherine, Krista, David, Mark, Lauren, James and Olivia, ten great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, George R. Mazzaferro, David J. Mazzaferro; one brother, Neil Pagano; and two sisters, Clara LaFrance and Concetta Scaia.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. CT. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
