Veta J. (Mills) Pipa

Veta J. Pipa entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 3, 2015, surrounded by her loving members of her family and friends. She was born on August 11, 1921 in Delhi, New York, daughter of Wallace Mills and Mary Peck Mills. Veta was employed at Mitral and Pheol as an inspector and Altek company. She was a member of the Sullivan Senior Center Belles and Beaus for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and visiting with her many friends. She was a longtime member of the Center Congregational Church in Torrington.

Veta was predeceased by her husband, Bert Pipa: son, Richard Pipa and grandson, Shawn Pipa. She is survived by her loving daughter, Joan Altschuler and husband, Stephen; grandson, Rick Richardone and wife Melissa; great grandsons, Alex and Trevor Richardone; step grandchildren, David Altschuler and wife Nancy, Sabrina Beck and husband, John and Lauren Altschuler; step great grandchildren, Ben and Lindsay Altschuler and Megan Beck.

She is also survived by daughter –in-law Lauretta Glover, granddaughter-in-law Lola Pipa, great granddaughters, Angelina and Victoria Pipa of Florida and grandson of the heart, Matthew Tyrell.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Center Congregational Church, 155 Main St., Torrington. Calling hours will take place on Monday, December 7, 2015, at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Condolences to the family may be sent by visiting www.cookfuneralhomect.com.
