Veronica Gulotta

Veronica Gulotta, 89, of Canaan, CT, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Noble Horizons after a long illness with her family by her side.  She was preceded by her husband of 37 years, Joseph P. Gulotta, and a son Frank J. Gulotta.

Veronica was raised in New York City where she worked as a seamstress, until her marriage.  She then moved to Ashley Falls, MA, to live with the Gulotta family until the war was over.  She moved to Canaan in the 1940’s where she remained until her illness in 2001.

She was a devoted lifelong member of St. Joseph Church in Canaan, where, until her illness she attended Mass everyday in spite of the weather.  She also was a member of the Lions Club.  She was an avid reader, an excellent seamstress, and artiest.

She leaves behind a daughter, Marguerite Gulotta-Finney and her husband Frank Finney of Ashley Falls, MA; five grandchildren, Joseph and Carl Gulotta of Savanna GA, Spencer L. Monroe of Simsbury, CT, Crystal Gulotta of Japan, and Jessica Gulotta of Florida, as well as seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home, Torrington.
