Theodora R. (Alibozek) Bechard

Theodora R. Bechard, 82, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at John Dempsey Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of Gill Bechard.

Theodora was born January 21, 1941, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Theodore and Joanna (Ricciardone) Alibozek.  She was employed as a secretary by the Visiting Nurse Association. Thea loved to travel with her husband; some of her favorite places to visit included Mt. Rushmore, Baltimore, and Florida. She was an active member at church, enjoyed creating ceramic treasures, reading books and watching her favorite soap operas.

In addition to her husband Gill, she is survived by five children, Brenda Shaw and her husband, Carl of Plymouth, CT,  Jeffrey Bechard and his wife Kathy of New Britain, CT, Barry Bechard and his wife Christina of New Port Richey, FL, Deborah Licki and her husband Jonathan of Spring Hill, FL, Lori Ann Trumbley and her husband Mike of Naugatuck, CT; one brother, Lawrence Alibozek of New Hartford, CT; ten grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
