Terri (Cetra) Reichen

December 8, 1950 — May 6, 2016

Terri (Cetra) Reichen, 65, of Torrington, CT, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, May 6, 2016, at her home surrounded by her husband, Fred Reichen of 40 years and two loving daughters.

Terri was born December 8, 1950, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Anthony “Tony” and Enis (Zanderigo) Cetra.  A compassionate Teacher, she was employed by the Torrington Board of Education for over 30 years, until her retirement.  Even after retiring, she often returned to East School continuing to spend time substituting in the classrooms. Born and raised in Torrington, she gave back to the community through her memberships in Beta Sigma Phi and Altrusa.  She was an avid reader who also belonged to a book club.  Her faith being extremely important to her, she was a communicant of St. Peter Church, and one of the highlights of her life was being blessed by Pope Francis.  She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, cooking, traveling to Washington DC and loved looking at the ocean. Two of her favorite things to do were to drive her convertible and play “Words with Friends." She was a caregiver to many, but her greatest joy and blessing was her two daughters.

In addition to her husband, Fred, she is survived by two daughters, Jenna Reichen of Washington, DC and Tracey Reichen of Torrington, several extended family members and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington.  Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
