Shirley M. (Curtiss) Gale

Shirley M. Gale passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday June 13, 2014. She was born in Torrington on January 11, 1931, to Jason P. and Erna (Hein) Curtiss.
Shirley is survived by her sister Pauline Anstett and brother Jason 'Bud' (Janice) Curtiss Jr. Also surviving are her daughters Shan (Rob) Robinson, Judy (Neal) Knofla, son Bob (Theresa) Gale, granddaughter Jen Gale, grandson Steve (Samantha) Gale and Alexander, the great-grandson. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Elmore E. Gale and her grandson Taylor Brown.
Wake will be held at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT on Thursday June 19 from 5 to 8 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley's memory to the Litchfield Woods Health Center 'Taking Care of Our Own' fund, a fund which provides financial help to Litchfield Woods employees who are battling illness.
