Shirley DeVito passed away after a long battle with cancer Tuesday morning, December 20, 2016, at home, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward DeVito.
Shirley was the daughter of the late Walter and Jessie (Slipkowski) Piejko. She grew up in Suffield and moved to Torrington in 1967. She graduated from High School in 1964 and earned a degree as a L.P.N. in 1967.
She loved quilting and knitting and made many beautiful items over the years.
Shirley is survived by her son, Jeffrey DeVito and companion Audrey Smith; daughter Jenna DeVito-Roisum and granddaughters, Avery and Caitlin. She was predeceased by her son, Timothy and her grandson, Mason.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hazardville Cemetery, on the corner of Elm St. and North St, Enfield, CT 06082.
