Shirley A. (Bush) Delaney

Shirley A. (Bush) Delaney, 85, of Harwinton, CT, peacefully passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Delaney.

Shirley was born January 12, 1932, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Philips) Bush.  A loving wife and mother, she enjoyed bowling, Bingo and playing cards with her friends.  A lifelong communicant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, she was also a member of the Mother’s Club, and the Managing Coordinator of the CCD Program, as well as a former member of the Sons of Italy.

She is survived by three sons, John Delaney (Pam) of Burlington, Richard Delaney of Torrington, Daniel Delaney (Michelle) of Harwinton; three daughters, Laurie Delaney (Donald LaRocco) of Torrington, Terri-Lee Urquhart (Charles) of Simsbury, Mary Beth Tracy (Scott) of Harwinton; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Claire Colangelo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 78 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton, CT 06791.  Burial will follow at Harwinton Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.
