Shirley Hall Allison

Shirley Hall Allison, 96, of Torrington, CT, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

Shirley was born on December 18, 1920 in Southington, CT.  Her family moved to Torrington in the middle of the Great Depression to find work.

Shirley was a lifelong resident of Torrington graduating from Torrington High School in 1939.  She found office work at the Hotchkiss Bros. Lumber Company before moving on to work for Dr. Conforti.  Shirley then became Office Manager for the Litchfield Orthopedic Associates where she worked until retirement.  In addition to her dedication to work, Shirley was known for her witty comebacks, her sense of fashion and most of all, her love of animals.

Shirley leaves behind several close friends who were her family. She was predeceased by her mother, Helen, father, William and brother, William (Bill) Jr., all of Torrington.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
