Sergio "Seg" Trivella

Torrington, CT

Sergio Trivella, 90, a lifelong resident of Torrington, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his family on Tuesday July 7, 2020.

Born December 18, 1929 in Torrington, “Seg” was the son of the late Angelo and Brigida Trivella.

Seg served his country during the occupation of Europe after WWII for over two years, returning in 1953 to marry the love of his life Rosemarie. He worked the entirety of his 40+ year career at The Torrington Company, retiring as a Computer Systems Analyst in 1989.  Seg had a passionate love of music and "good" guitar playing. He was an accomplished musician, playing the standup bass and bass guitar in quartet jazz bands (including the Three Cheers) for many years. He was an avid sports fan, golfer and loved the New York Yankees.  He was a friend to all who knew him, and possessed many talents that were transcribed onto his grandchildren. He was a lifelong communicant of St. Peter’s Church and the Holy Name Society, and member of many local civic organizations including the Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, Sons of Italy, and American Legion.

Predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years Rosemarie (DeFranz) in 2007, he is survived by his three sons; Tony and wife Susan of Avon, CT, Tom and wife Adrienne of Sea Girt, NJ, and Robert and wife Joan of Brooklyn, CT.  He is also survived by his older brother Leno Trivella of Torrington. His legacy is further defined by his seven grandchildren Matthew, Amanda, Andrew, Jeffrey, Michael, Abigail and Kelly; and four great-grandchildren Benjamin, Riley, Theo and Tyler.

Owing to current pandemic health restrictions, funeral and burial services will be private. While there are no public calling hours, condolences may be sent to the Trivella family by visiting the Cook Funeral website at www.cookfuneralhomect.com.
