S. Cecelia Daigle (Amicone) Cilfone

S. Cecelia (Amicone) (Daigle) Cilfone, 98, of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Paradigm Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Earle W. Daigle and of the late Ennis Cilfone.
Born April 2, 1916, in Torrington, CT, she was the daughter of the late Floriano and Mary (Gianontonio) Amicone. A lifelong resident of the community, she was a Real Estate Agent until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the North End Association, the Veneta Society, Anita Garibaldi, Torrington Women’s Club, the Torrington Historical Society and the Sullivan Senior Center. She was a communicant of St. Peter Church, where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister, and where she was also a member of the St. Anne Society and the Holy Rosary Society.
She is survived by one son, Harris C. Daigle of Torrington, a niece, Marie Indomenico; nephews, John Vermiglio, Bob Vermiglio, Floyd Amicone, Donald Cooper; grand nieces, Laurie Landry, Barbra Landry, Darlene Persechino and grand nephews, Ricky Failla, Gary Failla, Anthony Failla, Danny Failla, Vincent Testanero and Vincent Bongiovanni. She was predeceased by two brothers, James Amicone and Anthony “Frank” Amicone; three sisters, Philomena Gioia, Rose Cavanaugh, Lillian Vermiglio; four nieces, Barbara Bongiovanni, MaryAnn Testanero, Arlene Failla, Mary Jo Ann Lord and one nephew, Daniel Scocchera.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home
