Santa (Vizza) Arcuri. Born in Parenti, Italy on New Year’s Day 1934, the youngest of Giovanni Vizza and Maria Giuseppina Perri’s six children left this world to join her husband, parents, and siblings in heaven on November 23, 2023.

Predeceased by her husband Antonio and her siblings Concetta, Carmela, Carmine, Arturo and Quinto, Santina leaves behind her daughter Franca Arcuri Biales of Middletown, son Joseph Arcuri of Harwinton, son-in-law Brian Biales and daughter-in-law Maredith Arcuri. She will be missed by all, including her six loving grandchildren: Siena, Arianna, and Gioia Biales; Alesandro, David, and Savanna Arcuri.

She also leaves behind brother-in-law Felice Arcuri and his wife Christine, sisters-in-law Giuseppina Piccoli and Giovanna Perri, and a wealth of beloved nephews, nieces, family and dear friends in the United States, British Columbia, and Italy. Her jovial disposition, quick sense of humor and kind heart will be missed.

She and her husband Antonio Arcuri (d.2000) immigrated to Torrington, Connecticut with their young family in 1967 where she created a wonderful home and community of friends. Amongst other things, Santina was an avid gardener. She enjoyed sharing with neighbors, friends, and family the delicious food she grew in the garden and made in the kitchen. She fiercely loved her family and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She fostered in them a love of family, family traditions and her culture that will stay with them forever. She leaves this world a better place for having shared of herself.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home to St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
