Rosemarie L. (Pietrafesa) Barbero

Rosemarie “Sarah” L. (Pietrafesa) Barbero, 96, of Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015, at Valerie Manor surrounded by the love of her family. She was the wife of the late Joseph “Bobby” Barbero for 45 years.
Rose was born August 9, 1918, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Domenic and Joann Marie (Pace) Pietrafesa. She moved to Florida in 1968, were she was employed by Lundy’s Government Plant as a welder / riveter until her retirement in 1976. She returned to Torrington during 2006. A communicant of St. Peter Church, she was also a member of the Mother Cabrini and St. Theresa Society.
She is survived by two sons, Eugene Barbero and his wife Sharon of Winchester Center, CT, Thomas Barbero and his wife Emily of Torrington; one daughter, Rose Marchetti of Torrington; six grandchildren, Scott Burdick, Michael Barbero, Sarah Marchetti, Amy Perbeck, Chad Perbeck, Jeffrey Barbero; five great grandchildren, Ashley Burdick, Emma Burdick, Claire Burdick, Elise Babcock, Erica Babcock, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly Perbeck, Roberta Bisciotti, three brothers, Nicholas, Daniel and Joseph Pietrafesa; three sisters, Louise Morro, Mary Meeker, Lucy Trotta, and one son-in-law, Reno Marchetti.
Rose’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Valerie Manor for the exceptional care given to Rose and for the compassion shown to her family while she was a resident.
Funeral services will be held THURSDAY, January 29, 2015, with the cortege leaving at 12:00 noon from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held WEDNESDAY, January 28, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
