Rose A. (Avampato) Marola, of Torrington, CT, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Lawrence R. Marola.

Rose was born November 26, 1921, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Carl J. and Josephine (Ruvolo) Avampato.  An amazing mother, her single most important thing in life was to raise her family.  She later was employed by the Torin Corporation, as a Time Keeper.  She enjoyed volunteering at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for 29 years, and also at the Warner Theatre.  She was a past president of the Leisure Club, of the Columbiettes Auxiliary, and was a member of the Sullivan Senior Center, as well as the St. Francis Cabrini Society.  She was a former member of the Torrington Secretaries Association.   An avid reader, she also loved the challenge of a good crossword puzzle, playing cards, and enjoyed cooking and traveling.

She is survived by three children, Judith “Judi” Goddard and her husband David of Lakeside, CT, Lawrence “Larry” Marola Jr. and his wife Patricia of Titusville, FL, Robert Marola of Westbrook, CT; one sister, Margaret A. Falk (William) of Torrington, CT, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT.  Burial will be private.  There are no calling hours.
