Robert "Bob" Tirloni

Robert “Bob” Tirloni, 85, of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Yale New Haven Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Melinda (Thompson) Tirloni for 49 years.

Bob was born April 3, 1932, in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Louis and Emilia (Clara) Tirloni.  He, along with his wife, co-owned and operated the Discount Party Warehouse for 20 years until their retirement.  An avid golfer, he was a fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.  His three granddaughters were the light of his life.

In addition to his wife Melinda, he is survived by two sons, Robert Tirloni and his wife Kristina of Cedar Park, TX, Richard Tirloni and his wife Alicia of Naugatuck, CT; a brother-in-law Peter Thompson and his wife Jerilyn of Hamilton, NJ; three granddaughters, Adrianna, Isabella, Sophia; his special niece and nephew, Carol and Jonathon Rosenberg, as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Huet.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington, CT.  Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church.  Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT.
