Torrington, Connecticut

Robert Francis Revaz, 95, of Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025, at Cherry Brook Health Center in Canton. He was the beloved husband of the late Arlene Z. Revaz for 66 happy years.

Bob was born September 27, 1929, in Torrington, CT, son of the late John C. Revaz and Ethel (nee Anderson) Revaz. He was a member of the Torrington High School class of 1947 and served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. He and Arlene married in 1953 and raised four children together at their home on Westside Lane. A jack of all trades and master of many, he worked as an electrician’s apprentice, a grounds keeper, a truck driver for Patterson Oil and Lyn-Gas, and retired after 20 years delivering locally for the United Parcel Service.

The home on Westside Lane, lovingly maintained by Bob for over 60 years, was the gathering place for family and friends from afar, with Bob always being the perfect host. He was an avid skier, holding a local season’s pass until his 86th year. He loved swimming, jogging, traveling, Big Band music, and the UConn women’s basketball team. Bob was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, godfather, neighbor, and cherished friend to many at Keystone Place in Torrington where he was a resident for over 6 years. Their care for him was unsurpassed.

Bob was a lifelong parishioner at St. Peter Church in Torrington. He belonged to the Westside School Community Association, the St. Peter Home and School Association, Local Elks B.P.O. #372, Teamsters #677, and was a member of the Sullivan Senior Center.

Bob is survived by four children, a son Cris Revaz (wife Cindy) of Reston, VA; three daughters, Cathy Dobos (husband Andrew) of Torrington, Diane Quinn (husband Jim) of North Falmouth, MA; Renee Revaz (husband David) of Raleigh, NC; eleven grandchildren: Lauren, Andrew, Caitlin, Shea, Kirsten, Sean, Silvia, Nola, Sam, Nick, and Sophie; nine great-grandchildren: William, Devin, Layla, Kirsten, Audrey, Clark, James, Maxin, and Coralee; his sister-in-law Deanna Zampini; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
