Robert A.. Moore

Robert A. Moore, 56, of Winsted, CT lost his courageous battle with cancer at Yale New Haven Hospital on October 23, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Winsted, CT on June 17, 1959, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan (Jacobs) Moore, his 2 children Marci Fritch (and husband Jared) and Jordan Moore (and wife Diana), as well as the highlights of his life, his six beautiful grandchildren: Madison, Lola & Marley Fritch and Alexia, Ava & Rocco Moore.  He is also survived by his 2 siblings: Deborah Moore of Winsted, CT and Brian Moore of Seminole, FL and several nieces & nephews, including his beloved Godson, Jeremy Higgins.

Robert graduated from The Gilbert School in 1978. He was a successful businessman who started off by operating his parent’s restaurant, Bob's Folly. He designed & built R&B Sports World, and most recently was a successful realtor for Northwest CT Realty. He met his soul mate delivering newspapers at the ages of 12 & 13. They married in 1979 and started their incredible journey together. His most passionate hobbies were water skiing with friends on Highland Lake and watching the Boston Red Sox. Rob & Sue also loved traveling to their second home in St. Maarten, which was a lifelong dream of theirs. Rob was a pillar to the community he loved. He was an amazing patriarch to his close-knit family. Although he leaves behind his legacy in his children and grandchildren, he now joins his parents, W. Robert (Bob) & Norma (Cialfi) Moore in Paradise.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield Street Torrington, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. Joseph Church, 31 Oak St., Winsted, CT. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Joseph Church.  Burial will follow in Forest View Cemetery.
