Rita (Fracasso) Broggi

Rita (Fracasso) Broggi, 79, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.  She is survived by Roger Broggi, her beloved husband of 57 years.

Rita was born November 8, 1942, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Isadore “Sunshine” and Camilla (Radocchio) Fracasso.  She was a proud graduate of The Gilbert School and enjoyed attending the Blue & Gold Legacy Dinners. She was employed by Howard’s, The Torin Manufacturing Company, was a sales representative for Jafra Cosmetics, and for the past 23 years, a legal assistant for Attorney Ellen C. Marino in Winsted, CT.  Rita was a member of the Connecticut Yankee Chorale, where she held the office of Vice President, and was a communicant of both St. Joseph Church in Winsted, as well as St. John Paul the Great Parish in Torrington.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister-in-law Judith LeSage, a nephew Victor LeSage, many cousins, friends, and long-time friend Carolyn Mazzarelli (Sam), who shared the same wedding anniversary, often celebrated together. She was predeceased by her parents and her Aunt Helen Latina, all of whom she cherished deeply. Rita could always be seen at the local eateries enjoying her favorite meal of the day “breakfast” along with a little side of socializing. She found pleasure in finding the “perfect” gift for her friends and family and not only was the gift perfect, but the wrapping and hand-made bows were meticulous. Roger and Rita enjoyed many vacations in Cape Cod. Rita will be remembered for her generous nature and contagious laughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 99 East Main Street in Torrington. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery 236 E Pearl Road in Torrington. There are no calling hours.
