Richard “Dick” Copertino, 82, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Rose (Staino) Copertino.
Dick was born March 13, 1936, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Richard V. and Dorothy (Woodward) Copertino. He served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed by O & G Industries as a Truck Driver until his retirement. A member of the Elks Lodge #372, he also enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Hall of Fame for Bowling at Skytop Lanes.
He is survived by three children, Richard Copertino of Torrington, Donald Copertino and daughter-in-law, Silvia of Maryland, Deneen Cardello of Harwinton; one brother, John Copertino of Torrington; four grandchildren, Anthony, Gabe, Dante, and Nicolas, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Copertino.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, December 16, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
