Richard A. Pelchat

Torrington, Connecticut

Richard A. Pelchat, 84, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of the late Judith M. (Connell) Pelchat.

Rich was born June 7, 1938, in Berlin, NH, the son of the late Isadore and Dora (Badeaux) Pelchat.  After honorably serving his country with the US Army, he was employed by Mutual of America as an annuity underwriter from where he retired as Vice President of the Region.

A loving father, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sporting games, especially UCONN Basketball, traveling and relaxing at the beach.

He is survived by five children, James Pelchat (Kathy) of Torrington, CT,  Tammy Rouleau (John) of New Hartford, CT, Paula McLaughlin (Paul) of Torrington, David Pelchat (Carol) of Granby, CT, Cathy Pound (Ken Boyle) of Lutz, FL; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one grandson, Spencer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 160 Main St., Torrington, CT.  Burial will be private.  There are no calling hours.
