Rebecca A. (Butts) Criss, 34, graduated to Heaven on September 4, 2015 at her home in Winsted, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Torrington on September 1, 1981, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Butts and Siboney Riberio and the wife of Gregory Criss of Winsted.
A devoted Christian, Rebecca focused her life on doing God’s work. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and has a brick at Fenway Park dedicated to her father. She was also a fan of the Miami Dolphins. Her favorite television show was Star Trek Deep Space Nine.
Besides her husband and her mother, Rebecca is survived by her maternal grandmother, June Riberio, of Northfield, CT, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Michael and Linda Criss of Torrington and several beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Baptist Church, 1440 Litchfield Turnpike, New Hartford, CT 06057, on Friday, September 11, 2015. Calling hours will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. just prior to the service. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington.
