Raymond Yakubowski

Raymond Yakubowski, 78, of Harwinton, CT, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014, at Litchfield Woods. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Meda) Yakubowski.
Ray was born June 27, 1936, in Ancram, NY, son of the late George and Anna (Liszcinska) Yakubowski. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as an Engineer until his retirement. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed woodworking and gardening, especially growing tomato plants from seed.
In addition to his wife Jean of 51 years, he is survived by two children, Holly Young of Waltham, MA, Matthew Yakubowski of North Palm Beach, FL; two brothers, Carl Yakubowski of Clinton Corners, NY, Paul Yakubowski of Rhinebeck, NY; one sister, Eleanor Pulver of Pine Plains, NY; two grandchildren, Jessie Jean Young and Mia Simone Young, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Tony and George Yakubowski, and three sisters, Pauline Collier, Sophie Yakubowski, and Helen Yakubowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
