Raymond G. Alfano, Jr.

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Raymond G Alfano Jr., 69, announce his passing on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home.

Ray was born January 18, 1955, in Torrington, CT, the son of Carolyn (Green) and Raymond Alfano, Sr. of Torrington. He made a career of working at the family businesses, Pat's Tire and Auto, which was started by his grandfather, and the present Torrington Hyundai, from where he retired. 

But more than anything, Ray was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his sons. He dedicated over a decade of his life to coaching Little League, Midget football, and the involvement of THS football, impacting the lives of so many kids in the community. 

Raymond loved a good game of golf and many ski trips, with his life-long friends, whom he cherished. His sense of humor surely will be missed. 

In addition to his parents, Raymond is survived by four sons, Benjamin Alfano (partner Katie Farrell) of East Hartland, CT, Joseph Alfano of McKinney, TX, James Alfano (wife Becky Milan-Vega) of Torrington, Dominic Alfano of Torrington and Lydia DaSilva, his former wife; two brothers, Michael Alfano (Linda) of Goshen, CT, David Alfano (Tammie Duong) of New Hartford, CT; sister, Cathy Mendela (John) of New Hartford, CT as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, (Our Lady of Hope Parish), 78 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton, CT 06791. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.
