Pauline Anne (Whitehouse) Field, 90, of Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, at Litchfield Woods. She was the wife of the late Cryril (Charlie) Field.
Pauline was born December 1, 1931, in Coventry, England, the daughter of the late James and Constance (Simpson) Whitehouse. Her family was from the English Midlands and during WW2 she was one of many children evacuated from heavily bombed Coventry with her name and destination in the countryside pinned to her coat.
She was an RN in England and after emigrating was employed as a Nurse’s Aide at the Adams House for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved the retirement years she and Charlie spent in Florida. She will be remembered by her friends and family for her boundless energy fed by a voracious appetite, her meticulous housekeeping and her great fear of losing something important that she managed by pinning everything to her handbag.
She is survived by her son, David Field of Torrington, CT; her daughter, Linda Severi and her husband Jim of Winsted, CT; her three grandchildren, Jacqueline of East Granby, CT, Brendon of Manchester, CT and Lauren of Thomaston, CT; and her great grandchildren, Lilliana and Sonia of East Granby, CT.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to Pauline’s family by visiting www.cookfuneralhomect.com
