Pasquale “Patsy” Lopardo, 94, of Torrington, CT, passed away, Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Valerie Manor. He was the beloved husband of Edith (Ricci) Lopardo for 72 years.
Patsy was born October 28, 1919, in Harwinton, CT, son of the late Joseph and Annamarie (Lovallo) Lopardo. He served his country with the United States Army during World War II. Among the awards and decorations he received upon his honorable discharge in August of 1945 were the European African Middle Easter Theater Campaign Ribbon with one service star and the Purple Heart. He was employed by Dwan & Company for 50 years as a Sales Representative until his retirement. He was a member of the St. Peter Holy Name Society, a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Eagles Club. An avid bowler, he was associated with Arcade Lanes and held many records for Duck Pin Bowling.
In addition to his beloved wife Edith, he is survived by one son, Joseph Lopardo (Mary) of Winsted; two sisters, Carmella “Mel” Lopardo, Domenica “Mae” Pagano, both of Torrington; four grandchildren, Joseph Lopardo, Jr. (Renee’), Michael Lopardo (Pat), Gregory Lopardo (Karen), Heather Murray (Don); five great grandchildren, Ashley Sipper, Kara Fehr (Chris), John Sipper, Chelsy Lopardo, Madelyn Lopardo; one great great granddaughter, Molly; two sisters-in-law, Enis and Marlene, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Donato (Millie), Conio and three sisters, Vita, Lucy and “Shan”.
Patsy’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Valerie Manor for the compassionate care provided to him as well as to his family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
