Ottorino “Tino” Vannini, 89, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 at Valerie Manor. Born October 21, 1927, in Torrington, he was the son of the late Ettore and Amelia (Porcelli) Vannini. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Josephine (Magistrali) Vannini.
Tino was employed as a Plant Engineer by the Torrington Company for 42 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Elks as well as a former member of the Eagles and the Torrington Company Foreman’s Club. Tino was also a member of the St. Peter Holy Name Society as well a communicant of St. Peter Church. He belonged to Eastwood Country Club, Greenwoods Country Club and the Sullivan Senior Center. He was an avid bowler and a former member of the Men’s Bowling League.
Tino is survived by two sons, Allan Vannini of Bellevue, Washington and Thomas Vannini of Torrington, CT; one daughter, Tina Vannini of Torrington, CT; three grandchildren, Jill, Bryan, and Lauren; and one goddaughter, Leslie. He was predeceased by one brother, Alfred Vannini and one sister, Corrine Vannini.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
