Norman D. Decker, 74, of Winsted, CT, passed away peacefully Monday, April 22, 2019, at his home.  He was the husband of Nancy “Deb” (Belle Isle) Decker for 51 years.

Norman was born January 28, 1945, in Winsted, CT, son of the late Harold and Alice (Lalime) Decker.  He served his country with the US Marine Corps, where he sought combat in Vietnam.  He was a heavy equipment operator, employed by Carrier Construction.  He enjoyed to travel and did so extensively with his wife and family.   He also enjoyed spending quiet nights and gentle days with his loving and devoted family by his side, continuously until his passing at his home as were his wishes.

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by one son, Shawn K. Decker, and his wife Dana of East Hampton, CT and his two grandchildren, Preston Decker and Virginia Margaret Decker, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret L. Smith.  He is also survived by two brothers, Harold Decker II of Winsted, Eugene Lalime of Torrington.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home, Torrington.
