Norma Rossi Lovallo, formerly of Torrington, CT, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on April 28, 2017.  Born on July 28, 1929, and raised in Torrington, CT by the late George James Rossi and Virginia Negri Rossi, she attended Torrington High School then earned a Liberal Arts Bachelor’s Degree in 1951 from Wells College in Aurora, NY.  Norma was employed by the State of CT in social services from 1964 until her retirement in 1990.  As a social worker, she worked in ADC as well as Protective Services for the Elderly (Torrington Office). Her last position with the State of CT was as manager of Human Resources in the Waterbury Office.

Norma is survived by her loving children, Ross M. Anderson of Torrington and Kim (Jim) Cooke of Myrtle Beach, SC; devoted sister, Dr. Mary Anne Rossi of Appleton, WI; two caring grandchildren, Virginia Rose Cooke and Philip William Cooke; two nephews, Robert B. Brackenridge and Scot (Maggie) J. Brackenridge; one niece, N. Lynn Brackenridge , and numerous cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her niece, Sandy V. Rossi.

Norma enjoyed tennis, dancing, bowling, horse racing, card playing, classical music, opera, traveling, sunning at the beach, reading, and being with family & friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cook Funeral Home Chapel, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  Interment will follow at Old St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
