Norma C. Dashe was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 12/18/1918, one of five children born to Pearl and Morris Taksa. She passed away on 11/15/2014 in Connecticut.
Norma came to live in Reading, PA during the depression. She graduated from Reading High School. She met her husband, Dr. Meyer M. Dashe, at Brighter's Furniture where she worked as a bookkeeper and he was buying furniture for his bachelor apartment. She was active in the Reading School District PTA system, board member of the Visiting Nurses Association, President of Hadassah and President of the Berks County Medical Society Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son Murray Dashe of Danville, California, and his wife, Robin; and
her daughter, Eve Dashe (Matisoff) and her husband Alan, of Harwinton, Connecticut. Also, grandchildren Courtney Turnbull (Nashville, Tennessee), Summer Dashe (Dallas, Texas), Brett Dashe (San Francisco, CA, and Cindy Skow (East Hills, Long Island, New York). Additionally, great grandchildren, Jordan and Dylan Skow and Parker Mae Turnbull. Her brother, Jack Taksa, lives in Seattle.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 19th at 12:30 pm at Kesher Zion Cemetery on Philadelphia Avenue in Reading. Cook Funeral Home in Torrington, CT is handling Connecticut arrangements. Henninger's Funeral Home is handling Reading arrangements. Contributions may be made to Hadassah or Kesher Zion Synagogue.
