Nancy E. (Pearson) Killiany, 83, of Torrington, CT, passed away attended by family, Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Hartford Hospital.
Nancy was born May 28, 1939, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Everett and Pearl (Hale) Pearson and was preceded in death by two brothers, William Fuller and Robert Fuller: and one sister, Carol Wilcox.
She was the wife of Erwin Killiany for 65 years. In addition to her husband Erwin, she is survived by one son, Daniel Killiany (Leslie) of Dover, NH; three daughters, Debora Stafford (Mark) of Torrington, CT, Pam Killiany Viola (Ralph) of Miami, FL, Laurie Pelow (Evan) of Torrington, CT; seven grandchildren (Alexander, Chelsea, Matthew, Samantha, Derek, Laura & Daniel), four great grandchildren (Nix, Antonio, Sophia & Noelle), as well as several nieces and nephews. Her family was her world.
She was employed by the Torrington Company for more than twenty years, then Shawmut Bank with the records keeping department until her retirement. Nancy enjoyed many crafts, including painting, quilting, scrapbooking with her granddaughter, and researching family genealogy. She also enjoyed traveling the country and spending time with her family and friends. She could be seen walking trails around the Torrington area as well as Martha’s Vineyard. Nancy valued her many friends at First United Methodist Church, coordinating and supporting many events with the United Methodist Women’s’ group. She looked forward to daily lunch and conversation with friends at the Sullivan Senior Center for many years. Nancy always had a positive outlook on life and inspired those around her.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 21 Fern Drive, Torrington, CT 06790. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Book of Remembrance, c/o First United Methodist Church or to the Sullivan Senior Center, 88 East Albert St., Torrington, CT 06790.
