Mildred A. Norman, 81, of Torrington, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Born in Clinton, MA on October 23, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anita (Starr) Vickery. She was the spouse of the late William D. Norman, and a long time resident of Stratford, CT.
She was employed as an inspector at Avco Lycoming until her retirement. Throughout her years, she was a member of the P.A.V. Club in Clinton, MA, Stirling House and St. James church, a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, co-owner of a ceramic studio in Stratford. In recent years she was a member of the Torrington Sullivan Senior Center.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Dr. Susan Watson, of Clinton, IA Sherry Kaye, of Torrington, CT, her son Kevin C. Percell of Seymour, CT, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson. She was predeceased her sister, Kathleen A. Edmonds of Boylston, MA. and her sons Kenneth M. and David J. Percell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 9, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 85 Pulaski St.Torrington. Entombment will follow in St. Peter Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.cookfuneralhomect.com.
