Moe was a life-long man of faith dating back to his service as an altar boy at St Maron Church at age 7. He volunteered at the Torringford Fire Department beginning at age 16 and graduated from Torrington High School in 1975. Moe was known for his strong work ethic and commitment, as evidenced by his nearly 50 years working for Stop and Shop. Moe was a dedicated servant and role model to many as a Torrington firefighter for 27 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. He was a spiritual man and member of St Maron Church where he volunteered on the Building Committee, Fundraising Committee, and Board of Finance. Additionally, he served as a Corporator for the Brooker Memorial Board and was a member of the Elks Club. Moe was a fitness enthusiast and athlete. He played softball in the Torrington city league for 28 years, bowled in the Sky Top Lanes league, and was an avid golfer and member of Greenwood’s Country Club. Like his father, he cheered for UConn men’s basketball, the NY Yankees, and the New York Giants.
Moe and Judy’s shared passion for travel took them on incredible adventures including destinations such as Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, and many other locations, with Aruba being their favorite. They lived life to the fullest, traveling the world with their closest of family and friends. Most memorable were the vacations spent with their sisters and brothers-in-law. Everyone who met Moe admired his impeccable character and caring nature. He was always seen with a smile and enjoyed making people laugh. Time spent with his sweetheart, Judy, and the close relationship he shared with his “darling daughter,” Wendy, were the greatest joys of his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
