Mary "Irene" Avampato

Mary “Irene” (McMahon) Avampato, 97, of Torrington, CT, passed away March 1, 2023, at BrandyWine Living in Litchfield, CT.   She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Avampato.

Irene was born September 21, 1925, in East Hampton, CT, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Dion) McMahon.  She was employed by Bronson King as a salesclerk / decorator until her retirement in 1980.

Friends of Irene would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Brandywine who gave exceptional care to her.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis New Cemetery, 863 South Main St., Torrington, CT.  There are no calling hours.
