Mary Ellen Gensch

Mary Ellen Gensch, 75, of Torrington, CT, passed peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Hartford Hospital with her brother Al, his wife Deb, and her sister Annie by her side.

Born December 11, 1941, Mary Ellen was the daughter of the late Andy Sr. and Mary V. Gensch.  She was predeceased by her brother Andy, Jr.  Other survivors include her nieces and nephews: Kim Jones, Jennifer Marconti, Holly Jackson, Andrew Gensch III, Jason Gensch, their spouses, and her sister-in-law Joanne Gensch.  Although separated by miles, Mary Ellen found the greatest joy in learning about their lives and their children’s lives.

As well as being devoted to her parents’ care in the nursing home, Mary Ellen was a dedicated employee of John Hancock Life Insurance and The Telephone Company.  After retirement, MEG so enjoyed seasonal employment at Van Engelen Flower Bulb Company in Bantam, CT.

The family is forever grateful to her friends Bett, Margie, and Shirley and is especially appreciative of Bobbi and Rich Fiano’s support during this difficult time.
