Mary (Giramonti) Locche

Mary (Giramonti) Locche, 83, of Pawcatuck, CT, formerly of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022.  She was the wife of the late James Locche.

Mary was born April 29, 1938, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Eugene and Carmella (Savanella) Giramonti.

Devoted to her family, she was a phenomenal cook and baker, and loved to prepare meals for all to enjoy.  She was a member of the Silver Belles and Beaux, an avid fan of UCONN Women’s Basketball, and found delight tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Toomey and her husband Richard of Worchester, MA, Paula Locche of Pawcatuck, CT; one granddaughter, Amy Raiche and her husband Brandon of Westerly, RI, as well as two great grandchildren, Madeline and Charlotte.  She was preceded in death by her only sibling, her sister Julia (Giramonti) Audia.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.  All attending calling hours and the Mass are requested to wear protective face masks while inside of Cook Funeral Home and St. Peter Church.
