Mark Landucci

October 30, 1958 — January 24, 2025

Torrington, Connecticut

Mark P. Landucci, 66, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Friday, January 24, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Zanderigo) Landucci for 43 years.

Mark was born October 30, 1958, son of the late Peter and Elaine (Parducci) Landucci. President of Landucci Heating and Cooling for 38 years, Mark was a proud and dedicated pillar in the community which he served tirelessly, centered in his cherished hometown. The confines of northwestern Connecticut didn’t stunt him from being worldly, open minded, cultured, and wise, always to remain humble. An avid reader with an inquisitive mind, he was an infinite learner and listener to any subject or story, often having a thoughtful anecdote to punctuate even your own thoughts.

Catholicism was his faith, but music, specifically jazz, was his spirituality and soul, always getting lost in his “tunes.” He could play almost any instrument he picked up, the harmonica his favorite, but the strumming of his bass vibrating from the basement was the most cathartic sound, if you had the pleasure to hear it.

He was an oxymoron; stubborn and strong, yet sensitive and soft. He was resilient and endlessly optimistic. Selfless to a fault, if you called on Mark, he’d be there in a heartbeat, with bells on and a light-hearted joke. Mark found humor in almost everything; he had a contagious laugh and energy to match, always teaching us to “learn how to live.” He left a lasting imprint on everyone he encountered, whether you knew him for 5 minutes or 50 years. He was a dedicated son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend, but his most treasured title had to be Pop Pop. No one worked harder, or loved larger, and his world turned on a dime for his family, especially for his high school sweetheart, closest confidant, and “partner in crime,” Donna. He was steadfast in his support for his kids; with intrigue and involve - no project, idea, or ambition too great. To them, he defined the word idol.

Mark was the light in every room, and his presence, although deeply missed, will undoubtedly continue to shine bright. To quote a line from one of his favorite songs - “Take a load off Fanny, and you can put the load right on me.”

In addition to his wife Donna, Mark leaves behind his son, Christopher (Nicole) Landucci; daughter, Kate (Gabriel) Cruz; granddaughters, Ella and Ryan Landucci; sister, Rita (Mark) Greene; brother, Stephen (Susan) Landucci; and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Garrett Landucci; and brother, Nicholas Landucci.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with the cortege leaving at 9:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
