Marjorie (Zipf) Logan

July 30, 1926 — June 14, 2021

South Windsor, Connecticut

Marjorie (Zipf) Logan of South Windsor CT passed away peacefully on June 14th, 2021, at the age of 94. Born in Johnstown PA on July 30, 1926, she earned her RN degree in 1948 from the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. A proud mother of 4 children, Marjorie’s nursing career included work at Hartford Hospital and several nursing homes near her long-time East Hartford residence.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Charles R. Logan, her oldest son, Richard Logan, and her son-in-law, Bill Uziemblo. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Uziemblo of Tolland, two sons, Mark (Judy) Logan of Coventry and Attorney John (Nancy) Logan of Avon, and 2 half-brothers Fred Zipf of Maryland and David Zipf of Georgia. Marjorie’s pride and joy were her 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Throughout her life, she enjoyed her volunteer work, gardening and baking. She was a talented artist and tireless champion of social justice. More than anything else, she will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Lynda for the years of many kindnesses and compassionate care provided to Marjorie.

A memorial service will be held at Wapping Community Church at 1790 Ellington Rd., South Windsor on Wednesday June 23 at 4:00 pm. Donations can be made to the church.
