Marie Colarusso

Marie (Reitano) Colarusso, 95, of Torrington, CT, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Colarusso. Born on September 26, 1928, in New York City, Marie was the daughter of the late Gaetano Antoinette (Coma) Reitano, she was employed as a Bank Teller at the Central Hanover Bank & Trust Company. 

Beyond her professional endeavours, Marie was an active member of the Sullivan Senior Center, where she enjoyed community activities and cherished the friendships she fostered there. Known for her warmth and creativity, she found joy in knitting, a passion that translated into heartfelt  gifts for her family. Marie lovingly crafted blankets for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her three daughters: Rose Doig of Melbourne, FL, Barbara Paternostro (Ralph) of Harwinton, CT, and Sally Civiello of Wethersfield, CT. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Marie will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., followed by a service at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT at 12:00 noon, where she will rest alongside her late husband, Sal.
