Madeleine (Choiniere) Trudeau, 93, of Waterbury, CT, formerly of Harwinton, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Litchfield Woods. She was the beloved wife of the late Leopold Trudeau.
Madeleine was born on March 27, 1923, in Franklin, VT, daughter of the late Oscar and Jeanne (Corchesne) Choiniere.
Madeleine led a full and active life. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary church Ladies Guild. Her many hobbies included crocheting, sewing, crafts and baking. She was known for her crocheted baby blankets, booties and caps.
She is survived by one son, John Trudeau (fiancée Lamai Piwthong) of Jacksonville, FL and Thailand; three daughters, Pauline Rollo (Nicholas) of Waterbury, CT, Jeanette Cattey (Al) of Northfield, CT and Sharlene Horner (John) of Torrington, CT; one brother, Bernard Choiniere of FL; one sister, Claire George of Waterbury, CT; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Eugene Trudeau.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St, Torrington to Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
