Lucille C. (Balsamo) Pergola

Lucille C. (Balsamo) Pergola, 85, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away at her residence on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late John Pergola.

Lucille was born May 15, 1937, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late August and Mary (Basso) Balsamo.  She was employed by the Torrington High School cafeteria for many years.  When she wasn’t cooking or going out to dinner with her family and friends, she enjoyed watching movies and soap operas.  Known to be a “night owl”, she always stayed up late into the evening.

She is survived by five children, Diane Porter, her husband Scott, their children Kyle and Deanna and great granddaughter Mia;  David Pergola and his wife Sandra, their children Dawn and Scott and great granddaughters Natalie and Giovanna; Donald Pergola and his children Michael, Katy, Lydia and Ryan;  Dean Pergola, his wife Sherrie, their children Luke, Brie and Leah; and Douglas Pergola, his wife Kelly, and their children John and Sophia.  Five children, thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren – What a legacy! Lucille was also survived by several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings August Balsamo and his wife Audre’, Leo Balsamo, and Marie Cerruto and her husband George.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.  The burial will be private.
