Linda S. (Relva) King, 88, of New Hartford, CT, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of Alfred King for 55 years.
Linda was born June 13, 1926, in Madeira, Portugal, daughter of the late Dominic and Maria Silva (Relva) Fassio. She was employed by Torin Corporation as an Inspector for 36 years, until her retirement in 1988. She loved to crochet, and enjoyed traveling with her husband both in the US and abroad. A kind and generous person, she donated monthly to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
In addition to her beloved husband, Alfred, she is survived by one daughter, Deborah Metzger of Sutton, MA; two brothers, Julio Fassio of Torrington, Ray Fassio of Waterbury; three grandchildren, Eric Jacklin, Kate Metzger, Stephen Metzger, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley King, a brother, Mario Fassio, and a sister, Mary Rakyta.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 8:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
