Liberato Parente

Liberato Parente, 92, of Torrington, CT passed away Friday, January 21, 2022.

Liberato was born March 7, 1929, in Cerreto Sannita, Italy.  He was the son of the late Angelo Antonio Parente and Filomena (Guerrera) Parente.  He was predeceased by siblings Antoinette Rubano, Michalina Rubano, Gelsomina Rubano and Antonio Viscariello. Liberato was employed by the Torrington Company for 38 years as a machine operator.  He also held many part time jobs over the years using his multitude of talents.  Liberato was a communicant of St. Peter Church.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Liberato is survived by his wife of 69 years, Yolanda.  He is also survived by his son, Anthony (Sandra), his daughter Roseanna and his son Lee (Christine).  Liberato is survived by his grandchildren Dustin Parente (Kathryn), Kelsey Klebart (George) and Olivia, Lauren and Nicholas Parente.  In the last six years of his life Liberato delighted in his great grandchildren, Sophia, Ellie, Mae and Leo.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Liberato and Yolanda enjoyed traveling to Italy, Hawaii and California.  Sunday family trips to the beach in Milford, CT were also a favorite.  Liberato spent many hours in his garden and many hours making wine, his family and friends always enjoying the fruits of his labor.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield Street, Torrington to St. Peter Church, 99 East Main Street, Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.   Burial will follow.  Calling hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. January 26th at Cook Funeral Home.
