Leonilda “Nilda” (Zaccheo) Marrandino, 100, of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Emeritus. She was the wife of the late Domenic N. Marrandino.
Nilda was born May 31, 1914, in Salisbury, CT, daughter of the late Michael and Giovannina (Pontevia) Zaccheo. She was employed by Torrington Manufacturing and the Torrington Company until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Torrington and Winsted Senior Centers.
She is survived by three nieces and their families, Margaret “Peg” Stickels, Jo-Ann Roman, and Susan Fulton. She was preceded in death by one brother, Feliciano “Zach” Zaccheo, one sister, Rosa Scarzella, and her longtime companion and friend, Rocco “Rocky” Finello.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
