Lee Joseph Sochon

Torrington, Connecticut

Lee Joseph Sochon, 66, of Torrington, CT, passed away at home on Sunday, June 23, 2024, with his wife Susan by his side.

Lee grew up in Harwinton, the son of the late William J. and Edith (Eyre) Sochon, and graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical School where he went on to work as a Tool and Die Maker. He was employed by the Torrington Company, and later retired from Altra Motion in New Hartford from where he retired due to his illness. He was active in the community as a lifetime member of the Harwinton Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the New Hartford Snowmobile Rescue Club. He had several hobbies, including building / flying model airplanes as a member of the Balsa Bandits Model Airplane Club, fishing, hunting, and was an avid Yankee baseball and UConn Women’s basketball fan.

He leaves behind his wife Susan (Bronson) Sochon, a sister Susan (Sochon) Persechino and husband Marc; a brother Daniel Sochon and wife Traci, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter  Sochon.

Thank you to the Oncology Department at CHH, Hartford Healthcare Hospice, nurses, aides, friends, and many family members for their support. A special thank you to his wife Susan and niece Erin Bronson for their care and support during his time in hospice. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
