Lawrence "Larry" J. Martin, Jr.

Lawrence “Larry” J. Martin, Jr., 60, of Torrington, CT, formerly of Northfield, CT, peacefully passed on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, surrounded by the love of his family.

Larry was born November 11, 1961, the son of the late Lawrence J. Martin, Sr., and of Eileen (Mulcahy) Martin.

He was a dedicated employee of 32 years for the L. Suzio York Hill Companies and was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478. Larry was a loyal family man, and his favorite pastime was being surrounded by family, friends, and riding anything motorized with wheels! He was talented in many ways and was always known to be helping others. Whether something needed to be repaired or built, he had a natural talent to do so. His kind nature and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his fiancée, Jennifer Abraham, and son Jacob Abraham; daughters Jennifer deCastro and her husband Maha of Avon, CT, Andrea Martin of Colorado; a brother, Sean Martin, and his wife Jessica; granddaughters Everly, Ella, Orchid and Orenda; an Aunt Kathy Briggs, a loving niece, a loving nephew, as well as several cousins and many friends. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Tami Martin.

The family would like to extend deep gratitude to Dr. Uyen To, of the Yale Hepatology and Liver Transplant team, and colleagues from Yale New Haven Hospital.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT 06790   Burial will be private.
